Srinagar, May 20 (KNO): Even after elapsing over four months since vaccination drive against Covid-19 was started in J&K, around 20 percent health care workers in J&K are yet to get their first dose of vaccine. Official sources said that earlier health care workers were hesitant in taking the dose and now there is a shortage of vaccines. As per the data availed by the Kashmir News Observer, in Srinagar of 15,492 health care workers, 10,079 have received first jab while 4,813 have received both jabs. “The percentage of health care workers who have received the first jab is 65.06 percent while 31.07 percent have received the second jab,” data reveals. In Kulgam of 5,347 healthcare workers, 77.11 percent have received the first jab and 36.54 percent have received the second jab. In Shopian, of 1764, 82.20 percent received the first jab and 46.22 percent received third jab. In Bandipora, of 3,170, 69.50 percent and 32.56 percent have received first and second jabs respectively. In Anantnag of 8,841 healthcare workers, 65.58 percent have received first dose and 32.56 percent have received second dose and in Baramulla of 7,545 healthcare workers, 86.05 percent have received first jab and 43.15 percent have received second jab. In Kupwara out of 7,761 healthcare workers, 61.55 percent have received the first jab and 35.85 percent have received the second jab. In Pulwama, of 3,767 workers 88.80 percent have received the first jab while 47.62 have received the second jab. In Ganderbal of 2,903 healthcare workers 81.98 percent have received first jab and 42.58 percent have received second jab and in Budgam of 5,914 workers 82.33 percent healthcare workers have received first jab while 49.22 percent have received second jab. Similarly in Jammu, Kishtiwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kuthua, Ramban, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi 90.05 percent, 66.71 percent, 95.13 percent, 92.13 percent, 89.09 percent, 89.27 percent, 97.65 percent, 87.46 percent, 83.06 percent and 74.78 percent healthcare workers have received first jab while as 60.66 percent, 36.37 percent, 50.89 percent, 63.83 percent, 52.54 percent, 51.14 percent, 70.00 percent, 53.25 percent 51.83 percent and 48.03 percent have received second dose respectively. In aggregate form, of 122,235 heath care workers, 98,064 (80.23 percent) have received first jab and 57,079 (46.70 percent) have received second jab respectively. (KNO)
